By now, you may have scanned through this toolkit and be wondering: how do I get support to take action by implementing some of these processes and ideas?
This page shares activities and opportunities available to support WA community service organisations with infusing climate justice and resilience into their services, policies and advocacy! It includes information about workshops, funded partnerships and news associated with a broader program of work called Enhancing Climate Justice and Disaster Resilience in WA Community Services. It also other sources of support, funding and training.
Responding to and preparing for the unjust impacts of climate change doesn’t have to be difficult, though it does help to have support to get the ball rolling. That’s why funded partnerships are available to support WA community organisations infuse climate justice and disaster resilience into any aspect of a community service organisation and its service provision.
Through the partnership organisations will collaboratively develop and undertake an initiative or project with team members from the Enhancing Climate Justice in Disaster Resilience in WA Community Services program. Partner organisations are also expected to work collaboratively with people who use their services, Aboriginal Traditional Owners and People with Lived Experience.

Free workshops are available to help services learn about and respond to climate injustices and impacts. These are available online for a general audience, in house and in regions across WA.
The workshops are designed for staff, volunteers and key people who work at any organisation that provides social, community or health services in WA. They provide an opportunity for people to come together, learn, and explore practical ways to bring climate justice and disaster resilience into their work, policies, services or advocacy. Staff may be able to count the workshop towards their professional development hours.
Online workshops will be available in 2025 and 2026. Registration links will become available on this page soon. In the meantime, please register your interest using the link below and read the participant information sheet to understand the optional research component of the workshops.
These workshops work best when they are tailored to different organisations, services and regions. For this reason, we invite organisations to co-host a workshop.
Co-host organisations will ensure the workshops are place-based, culturally appropriate and trauma-informed. Co-hosts are also expected to engage local Elders and people with Lived Experience to participate, share their experiences and expertise. For example, we can offer a one-day in-person workshop for staff across several organisations in a region or an in-house workshop for one service team.
Funding is available to support co-hosts in organising the workshop logistics (such as catering and venue) as well as lived experience and elder engagement and fair remuneration.
To ensure the workshops are accessible to organisations of all sizes in all regions of WA, we are also seeking partner organisations to co-host regional workshops. These will aim to reach the South West, Mid West, North West, and Goldfields/Esperance regions of WA. We invite Aboriginal-led organisations and community service organisations with strong, positive relationships in their communities.
